About Me

I'm Balqis Indriyani, an industrial designer and maker originally from Jakarta, Indonesia. My approach combines hands-on craftsmanship with digital innovation.

I began my design journey at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, majoring in Furniture Design & Manufacture.

I worked as a Woodworking Technical Designer in the Bay Area, designing furniture, high-end millwork, managing projects and troubleshooting technical issues.

I then returned to Indonesia to work with local manufacturers and craftsmen, reconnecting with traditional techniques and my Javanese heritage.

Now, I reside in Brooklyn, New York, pursuing my MFA in Industrial Design at Parsons School of Design.
